TL_Marius2_actor_Eimutis_Kvosciauskas_stillLife drifts by for gay corporate lawyer Marius, his time spent teasing friends and chasing young lovers. One day, Marius’ estranged father dies. Mourning turns to love as the lawyer finds an unanticipated connection with a sex-cam worker Ali – a Syrian refugee stuck in Belgrade in the new film ‘The Lawyer.’ It’s a tender and complex love story between a Lithuanian lawyer and a bisexual Syrian refugee dealing with themes of self-isolation, loneliness, and finding solace in virtual relationships.

‘The Lawyer’ is the first Lithuanian feature film focusing on a male same-sex romantic relationship and one of the very few fiction films about the LGBTQ+ refugee experience in Europe. Danilas Pavilionis, a trans actor appearing in the film, was the first trans man to be featured on the cover of a major Lithuanian magazine.

Written, produced & directed by Lithuanian LGBTQ+ activist Romas Zabarauskas, the film was screened last year at London’s BFI Flare Film Festival. ’The Lawyer’ will be released on VOD in the UK from February 26 on Apple TV (iTunes) & Pantaflix via OUTtv. On the same day, the film will also launch on VOD in Germany, Austria & Switzerland via Apple TV (iTunes), Amazon Prime, Googleplay & Pantaflix with a concurrent DVD release; and in Ireland, The Netherlands, Spain, Israel & Sweden on VOD via Apple TV (iTunes) & Pantaflix.
